Bio-based Silica Matting Powder is an environmentally friendly functional powder material made from renewable biomass. Its core component, silica, is obtained through biosynthetic or biomass conversion technologies. Unlike traditional petrochemical-based silica matting powders, it combines excellent matting performance with sustainable characteristics. Widely used in coatings, inks, plastics, leather and other industries, it can endow products with matte texture and high-grade visual effects.

Application Fields

  1. Coatings Industry: Used in water-based wood coatings, UV-curable coatings, industrial anti-corrosion coatings, architectural coatings, etc., to endow coatings with matte texture and improve decorativeness and stain resistance.
  2. Inks Industry: Suitable for offset inks, flexographic inks, screen printing inks, improving the printability and drying speed of inks, and making printed patterns clear with long-lasting matte effects.
  3. Plastics and Rubber: Added to PP, PE, PVC, silica gel and other materials to prepare matte plastic parts and rubber products, such as home appliance shells, automotive interiors, seals, etc.
  4. Leather and Textiles: Used in leather finishing agents and textile coating finishing agents to achieve matte treatment of leather and fabrics, enhancing touch and visual grade.

Usage Recommendations

  1. Addition Level: According to the system type and target gloss, the recommended addition amount is 1%-10% (mass fraction), which can be adjusted through experiments.
  2. Dispersion Method: It can be directly added to the system and stirred at high speed (1000-2000 r/min) for 10-20 minutes; or first prepared into a masterbatch and then mixed with the main material for better dispersion effect.
  3. Storage Conditions: Seal and store in a cool, dry and ventilated place, avoid moisture and heavy pressure. The shelf life is 12 months.
